Louie A. Mathieu, 67, passed away quietly at his home on Friday, Aug. 14.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 2 p.m. at Camellia City Baptist Church in Greenville, Ala.  Friends and family are invited to attend to join in a celebration of Louie’s life, and are encouraged to wear their Alabama football colors to show support for Louie’s love for Alabama football.

Louie was preceded in death by his mother, Elnora Thompson, and his father, Cecil Mathieu.  He is survived by his wife, Debbie, of Greenville; daughter, Crystal “Monkey” Purvis (Jamey), of Greenville; sister, Jane Allred (Elvis), of Jasper; sister, Wanda Wacha, of Greenville; grandchildren, Jacob “Little Buck,” Zachary “Little Man,” Hannah “Pumpkin” and Claire “Kitten.”  Nieces and nephews include Kellie Gibson (Jerry), Kerrie Pirkle (Darren), Jessica English and Elizabeth Wacha; grandnieces, Janie Akins, Hannah Pirkle and Kaylie Denny; and cherished friends Ricky Miller, Larry Able and A.W. Till.
