Jerre Paul Johnson Sr., 73, a resident of Industry, Ala., passed away Sunday, Aug. 16 at Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery, Ala. Johnson was born April 25, 1942, in Troy, Ala., to Jeane Windham Johnson and William Gerald Johnson. He was a member of the 1960 graduation class of R.E. Lee High School in Montgomery, and attended the University of Alabama before starting his family. Johnson pursued a career in sales, which suited his temperament and personality. He could talk to anyone, and often did. He loved his role as a financial advisor, serving clients in many states. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Harwell Johnson; three children and their spouses, J. Paul Johnson Jr. and Annabelle of Silver Springs, Md., Juliet Johnson Burton and Mike of Friendswood, Texas, and Rodney G. Johnson and Brook of Tampa, Fla., as well as nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Luann Johnson Jackson, and her husband, Andy, of Chapman, Ala., his nephew, Grant Deal of Montgomery, and his family by marriage who all loved him dearly. We will celebrate Jerre’s life during a memorial service to be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Georgiana, Ala., on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 11:30 a.m. The family will visit with friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
