Funeral services for Mrs. Martha R. Cook Mickles (Rye) were held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at 1 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church; Rev. Gary D. Reed Sr. officiated. Burial followed in the churchyard cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services, Greenville, Alabama, directed. Mrs. Mickles was born December 23, 1938, to the late Mr. Willie and Mrs. Lillie Cook in Greenville, Alabama. Mrs. Mickles departed this life on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital, Greenville, Alabama.

Martha confessed Christ at an early age, joined the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until her death. Martha was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Eli Mickles Jr., (Sonny). To this union seven children were born. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by nine siblings. Martha leaves to cherish her loving memories, four daughters, Margie Mickles, Elizabeth McCall, Cheryl Mickles and Darlene Sellers; three sons, Napolean Mickles, Rickey Mickles, all of Greenville, AL and Frederick (Stacey) Mickles, Frederick, Maryland; two sisters, Mary Kate Stewart, Detroit, MI and Dana Peterson, Greenville, AL; one brother, Will (Marlene) Cook Jr., New Orleans, LA; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grand children; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
