A three-vehicle crash at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 9, claimed the life of a Greenville woman and injured five others.  The crash occurred on U.S. 29 at the 167 mile marker, 1.5 miles south of Troy.

Amanda Suzanne Carter, 23, was killed when the 2007 Nissan Altima in which she was a passenger side-swiped a 2012 Ford driven by 23-year-old Tiffany Rena Hill of Troy and struck a 2005 Jeep Wrangler driven by Justin Tyler Jacobs, 31, of Rutledge.

Carter was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Coroner Jerry Williams.
