Mrs. Mary Lee Mardis, 80, a resident of Montgomery, died Thursday, May 14, 2015. A graveside funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2015, in Siloam Cemetery, with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Mardis worked with Montgomery County Probate Judge Perry Hooper for 14 years and served in the State of Alabama Driver’s License Division for 16 years. After her retirement from public life, she was self-employed in the real estate industry for a number of years.

Mrs. Mardis was preceded in death by her husband, Roland D. “Bill” Mardis; her father, Herman M. Roberson; mother, Leila Graydon Roberson Boglioli; sister, Carrie Roberson Martin; and brother, Walter H. Roberson.

She is survived by two sons, Bill Mardis and Mike Mardis; two grandsons, Jason Mardis and Joseph Mardis; one great-grandson, Jordan Mardis; her sister, Mabelene Roberson; her brother, Louis J. Boglioli; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Serving as pallbearers were Bill Mardis, Jason Mardis, Joseph Mardis, Randy Hall, Louis Boglioli, Darrell Blackmon, Butch Baggett and Kenneth Dunlap.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial donations be made to Brantwood Children’s Home, 1309 Upper Wetumpka Rd., Montgomery, AL 36107, or to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (memorial gift designated for Alabama Treatment and Research Programs).

Family and friends met at the cemetery Monday morning just prior to service time.
