Matthews to intern for U.S. Representative

Greenville native and Fort Dale Academy graduate Brandon Matthews was selected to serve as a summer intern for U.S. Rep. Martha Roby.

Matthews will arrive in Washington D.C. on May 11 to begin the 6-week internship.

Roby is currently in her third term serving Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District, which includes  Autauga, Barbour, Bullock, Butler, Coffee, Conecuh, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Elmore, Geneva, Henry, Houston, Pike, and parts of Montgomery.

“First and foremost, I am extremely blessed and fortunate to have this opportunity,” said Matthews.  “I am looking forward to growing as an individual and gaining knowledge that can not be gained in the classroom.”

Matthews recently completed his junior year at Troy University.

He is majoring in political science and is a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

He is the son of Tanya and Lonzo Ingram, and the late Ray B. Matthews.
