State Rep. Chris Sells (R – Greenville) announced earlier this week that he has been appointed to serve on two important committees in the Alabama House of Representatives – the Ways & Means General Fund Committee and the Transportation, Utilities & Infrastructure Committee.
“I look forward to putting my decades of experience in the business field to work as a member of the General Fund Budget and Transportation committees,” Sells said. “I will work to ensure that we allocate funding to state agencies in a manner that makes good business sense. In addition, I’ll also use my post on the Transportation, Utilities & Infrastructure Committee to ensure that Alabama provides the good roads and other tools necessary to attract jobs and compete with our sister southeastern states in economic development.”
Alabama Speaker of the House Mike Hubbard (R – Auburn) said committee assignments were made based upon the experience and expertise that each member of the House possesses.
“As a successful businessman, Rep. Sells has built a specific skill set that makes him an ideal member of both of these committees,” Hubbard said. “I know that the citizens of our state will benefit greatly from his service in the Alabama House.”
Sells was elected to the Alabama House in 2014 and recently participated in the constitutionally-mandated organizational session of the Legislature.
The 2015 regular session is scheduled to convene on March 3 and is expected to adjourn sometime around mid-June.
