Lady Bulldogs top Luverne

It may have been a rival game, but there were no hard feelings Saturday night when the Lady Bulldogs walked away with a 40-33 win over Luverne.

Lady Tigers head coach Andre Parks told his team they could learn a lot from Brantley.

“The way they played basketball is what we’re striving for,” he said. “They did a great job.”

Parks said his team put forth a great effort.

“I was really pleased with the way our girls competed,” he said.

The leading scorer was Alexus Redmon with 12 points. Nyjah Thomas added eight to the score and Britney Redmon was good for six points.

Payton Burnett led the Lady Bulldogs with 15 points. Saquaya Lane added 12 points to the Brantley score.

Brantley will host Florala Tuesday night at 5:30 p.m. They take on Goshen Thursday and Pleasant Home Friday.

Luverne will play Central Haynesville Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and travel to Calhoun Thursday and to Greenville Saturday.
