Mr. Claude R. “Mike” Morgan Jr., 69, a resident of Montgomery, and formerly of Luverne, passed away on Fri., Dec. 26, 2014.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Mon., Dec. 29, 2014 at Frazier United Methodist Church with Rev. John Ed Mathison and Rev. Tim Thompson officiating. Interment followed in Vernledge Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Sarah Davis Morgan. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janice Johnson Morgan; two sons, Troy Michael Morgan and Justin Rutledge (Cameron) Morgan; two grandchildren, Mary Rutledge Morgan and Sarah James Morgan; sister, Vivian (Preston) Walker; and two special caregivers, Reginald Trawick and Cassandra Barnes. The family would like to especially thank Home Instead Senior Care and Amedisys Hospice of Montgomery. They request that memorial donations may be made to Frazier UMC in Christ Way Fund, Vernledge Cemetery, or ones favorite charity.

Active pallbearers were Tony Walker, Jonathan Bagents, Chris Johnson, Joey Johnson, Gary Johnson, Bill Daughtery, Mike MacDonald and Ray Little. Honorary pallbearers were all of the young men who Mike coached over the years.
