Brundidge man killed in wreck

A Brundidge man was killed in a wreck on Florida State Road 123 Thursday afternoon. The wreck happened 1.3 miles north of State Road 85 at 4:20 p.m., according to a media release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Brundidge resident Robert Carlisle, 75, was driving a 2010 Ford F-150 truck northbound with Shalimar, Fla. resident Carol Harris, 69, as a passenger.

A southbound Isuzu truck driven by Christopher Shoeller, 35, of Panama City, crossed the yellow line into the path of Carlisle.

“As a result, the left front of (the Isuzu) collided with the left front of (Carlisle’s truck),” stated the release.

Shoeller was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola with critical injuries. His passenger, Brian Taylor, 35, of Panama City Beach, suffered minor injuries. He and Harris, who was listed in serious condition, were transported to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.

All parties were wearing seatbelts.

State Road 123 was closed until 7:49 p.m. while the crash was under investigation and vehicles were removed. The wreck is still under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
