Jessie named LBWCC dean of student affairs

Lurleen B. Wallace Community President Dr. Herb Riedel recently announced the addition of Jason Jessie as the College’s dean of student affairs as of Dec. 1, 2014.
“We are excited that Mr. Jessie is joining our leadership team,” said LBWCC President Dr. Herb Riedel. “He brings several years of experience in enrollment growth and management and we look forward to welcoming him to LBW.”
The dean is responsible for the overall coordination and management of the student affairs division of the College at all locations.
Jessie holds a Master’s Degree in collegiate scholarship and service, and a Bachelor’s Degree in education, both from the Northeastern State University (NSU) in Tahlequah, Okla.
Since 2001, he held various positions at NSU, most recently in the areas of recruitment, admissions, and enrollment management. He also has extensive experience in high school and college relations, including direct involvement in planning and organizing events and publications designed for recruitment.
During his tenure at NSU, his achievements included reversing a three-year decline in freshmen class enrollment with an eight percent increase, hosting NSU’s largest recruitment event, recruiting the largest freshmen honors program class, and implementation of a client relationship management tool.
He is married to attorney Maci Jessie and they have one daughter, Madeline. The family is in the process of relocating to the Andalusia area.
