William “Doug” Butts, 69, a resident of Luverne, died Wed., Nov. 5, 2014. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Fri., Nov. 7, 2014 at Turner Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Thomas officiating. Interment followed in Luverne Emmaus Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Butts was preceded in death by his father, Seth Butts. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty S. Butts; two children, Tommy (Laura) Butts and Jane (Jason) Owens; five grandchildren, Breanna Mayhall, Jase Owens, Ashton Mayhall, Jaelyn Owens and Josie Owens; his mother, Hazel W. Butts; and brother, Malcolm (Kathleen) Butts.

Active pallbearers were Ken Messick, Dale Lawrence, Jason McManigle, David Parrot, Ray Butts, Justin Sexton, Jon Walker Arthur, David Messick, John McManigle and Ashton Mayhall. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Luverne Volunteer Fire Department.
