John Kinion Gibson, Jr., of Evergreen, Ala., died Aug. 24 at Evergreen Nursing Home. The family will hold a private graveside service. Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his parents J.K. Gibson, Sr. and Janie Alums Gibson; two brothers, Calvin Gibson and Lamar Gibson; four sisters, Clarice Reynolds, Anna Jewel Dixon, Edwina Butts and Frances McGough. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Doris Davis Gibson; daughter Rita (Larry) Smith; son, Gary (Liz) Gibson; two sisters, Narva Jean Reynolds and Carolyn (Phillip) Hinson; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Artie) Wright, Pam (Danny) Brown, Jonathan (Monica) Smith, Amy Gibson, and Kin (Jessica) Gibson; and six great-grandchildren, Kaleb Wright, Lakyn and Logan Brown, Delilah, Lambert and Annabelle Smith. Cope Funeral Home in Evergreen is handling the arrangements.
