Richard Allen Harmon, 76, a resident of Greenville, died at L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital on Aug. 25. The funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Greenville on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at 3 p.m. with Rev. David Saliba officiating at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Garden Cemetery in Pickens County, Ala., at 11 a.m. Mr. Harmon is survived by his wife: Mary Claire Harmon of Greenville; daughter, Anne Harmon Keen (Joseph David Keen) of Forest Home, Ala.; son, Richard Allen Harmon, Jr. (Wanda Kelley Harmon) of Prattville, Ala.; five grandchildren, John William Harmon (Melissa), Clayton Allen Harmon (Andrea), Taylor Brett Harmon, Mason DeShields Keen and Mary Avery Keen; two great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Elizabeth Harmon and Addison Claire Harmon; and brother, John Franklin Harmon of Birmingham, Ala. Mr. Harmon was married for 54 years. He worked with Joseph Ministry for 20 years and taught Sunday School at First United Methodist Church. He was a manager of American Apparel and a longtime member of the Camellia City Civitans Club. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either the Joseph Ministry or to the Van-Gillen/Sara Lou Beeland Scholarship Fund.
