Bryant “Buddy” Scruggs, Jr., 68, a resident of Georgiana, Ala., passed away July 9. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, at the Johnson Funeral chapel with Rev. Michael Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home directing arrangements. The family will receive friends Friday, July 11, at Johnson Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Mr. Scruggs is preceded in death by his parents, Bryant and Irene Scruggs; sisters, Pam Scruggs, Diane Cartwright, and Vida Cooper. Survivors include: wife, Rayleen Scruggs, Georgiana, Ala.; daughter, Heather (Andre) Kendrick, Georgiana, Ala.; sons, Terry (Angela) Scruggs, Andalusia, Ala., and James (Lisa) Scruggs, Red Level, Ala.; sisters, Juanita (Billy) Atkison, Red Level, Ala., Bobbye (Robert) Higdon, Tuscaloosa, Ala., Shirley Whittington, Georgiana, Ala., Brenda Scruggs, Brewton, Ala., and Sue Bush, Georgiana, Ala.; brothers, Jimmy (Rebie) Scruggs, McKenzie, Ala., Robert Scruggs, Greenville, Ala., Buster (Ernie) Scruggs, Georgiana, Ala., and Larry (Lisa) Scruggs, Troy, Ala.; granddaughters, Kelsey Scruggs, Andalusia, Ala., Hannah Scruggs, Red Level, Ala., Bailey Kendrick and Logan Kendrick, both of Georgiana, Ala.; grandsons, Brandon Scruggs, Andalusia, Ala., and Davin Scruggs, Evergreen, Ala.
