Martha Elizabeth Josey Windham, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., age 85, passed away June 17. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Windham, and siblings Hazel Josey Williams, Joseph Josey, Jr., and Emma Sue Josey Bouchillon. She is survived by her brother John Josey, of Mountain Brook, Ala.; her three children and their spouses: Stephen and Ruth Windham, of Woodstock, Ga.; Charles and Debra Windham, of Mountain Brook, Ala.; Susan Windham and Tim Nunnally, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.L; and four grandchildren: Josey Windham, Mary Windham, Mims Windham and Mattie Windham. She was born in 1928 in Castleberry, Ala., the daughter of Joseph and Mattie Josey. She graduated from Alabama College (presently Montevallo University) in 1950, and received a certificate in medical technology from the Medical College of Alabama (presently the University of Alabama at Birmingham) in 1951. She resided primarily in Jasper, Ala., and Greenville, Ala., before moving to Tuscaloosa in 2009. A private, graveside service will be held June 20 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Castleberry, followed by interment in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to West Alabama Hospice, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
