Morgan Burkett has been hired as an intern for Greenville Newspapers, LLC.

“I’m so thrilled to have the opportunity to learn new things about the paper and the be more involved in the community, and I’m grateful for how much help the staff at The Greenville Advocate has been so far,” Burkett said. “I look forward to spending my summer here and learning new things.”

Burkett is a 2014 graduate of Georgiana School and will be attending Jacksonville State University in the fall to study Elementary Education. While at Greenville Newspapers, Burkett will complete a 10-week internship as part of the Alabama Press Association’s Journalism Foundation Internship.

“I’m excited to welcome Morgan to our staff for the summer,” said managing editor Andy Brown. “We are proud the have the chance to work with her, and look forward to her contributions to our newspaper and our community.”
