A memorial services for Mrs. Evelyn Smith will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. from Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Bro. Johnny Bradley will officiate. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hudson Funeral Services. Mrs. Smith Evelyn Smith was born June 17, 1933, in Fort Deposit, Ala. She was born to the late Ed and Emma Smith.

In 1983 she dedicated her life to Jehovah. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and fishing.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Smith, and one sister, Willie Kate Scott.

She leaves to cherish her memories one son, James Powell Sr. (Claretta), and one daughter, Emma Jean Powell, both Greenville; six sisters, Ruby D. Jenkins, Annie R. Smith, Geraldine McPherson (Willie), all of Fort Deposit, Reba M. Lee (Henry) of Chattanooga, Tenn., Louise Hamilton and Willie P. Bogan, both of Greenville; five brothers, Ed Smith Jr., Rex Smith, both of Greenville, Josephus Smith of Montgomery, John Henry of Mobile, and Charles Bogan of Ohio; two grandsons, James Powell Jr. (Noi) of Dallas, Ga., and Reggie Powell of Greenville; four granddaughters, Stephanie Jones, Naomi Powell, Felicia Powell, all of Greenville, Annjaetta Cannon (Will) of Villa Rica, Ga.; nine great-grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
