Ferney “Ray” Carpenter, 68, of Mobile, was born Nov. 15, 1946, and passed away on May 4, 2014. He was a former resident of Georgiana. He retired from the Boilermakers and Pipefitters Union, Local 112. He was preceded in death by his parents, Giles B. Carpenter and Thelma Flowers Carpenter; two brothers, Joe Donald Carpenter and Bryant Dozier Carpenter; two sisters, Sylvia Catherine Carpenter and Florine Carpenter Bolton. He is survived by special friends, Shawn and Sam Perloff and Madison-Gwin Williams, as well as a host of friends and special neighbors. He especially loved his dear puppy companions, Jake and Sonny. Visitation will be held at Azalea City Funeral Home Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Graveside services and internment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Georgiana on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Arrangement by Azalea City Funeral Home.
