Chris West has announced he will seek reelection to the Crenshaw County Commission in District 4.
West, a native of Brantley, has qualified on the Democratic ticket.
West was elected to the office in 2010.
During his first term, the commission qualified for nearly $10 million in ATRIP and RAMP funds to help repair 18 bridges and a resurfacing project within the county.
The commission also worked to resolve issues in the landfill, kept garbage rates level in the county and more.
West said, if elected, he’d like to continue the improvements the commission has made this term.
“We have worked diligently this term to make improvements to Crenshaw County to help our citizens,” West said. “We’ve been fortunate to qualify for this once-in-a-lifetime source of funding that, once completed, will make our roads safer than ever before. We were fortunate to keep our garbage rates level while putting some teeth in our contract to ensure our residents’ garbage is collected in a timely manner. I want to work with other members of the commission for another four years to continue the successes we have seen this term.”
West is married to the former Mona Gaines of Brantley.
