The Butler County Humane Society is hosting Bark in the Park on April 6 at Greenville’s Confederate Park.
The annual event, which serves as a fundraiser for the BCHS, will feature contests for cutest dog, smallest dog, ugliest dog, biggest dog and best-dressed dog. The cost to enter a contest is $5.
The grand prize winner of the contests will receive a “Pet Basket of Plenty.”
“Everyone will get a prize,” said event organizer Kimberly Matthews.
The pet parade and contest will begin at 3:30 p.m.
There will be a photo booth on hand so owners can get pictures of their pooches. The cost of a photo is $10.
The event will also feature concessions, flea market finds, bargain pet supplies, and live music.
According to Matthews, Blu Braden, Cleve Poole and Tracy Stinson are scheduled to perform.
“It’s going to be a fun day with good food and live music,” Matthews said. “It’s a fundraiser for the Humane Society, but it’s really more of a social event.”
BCNHS members will also have an adoptable pets board on display with photos of shelter dogs and cats in need of good homes.
Bark in the Park is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and end at 4 p.m. Matthews said that those planning to attend must have their dogs on leashes.
