Ralph Waldo Sowell, Jr., 73, a resident of Collierville, Tenn., passed away on Jan. 27. Funeral services were held Feb. 1 at Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Stephenson officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home directing arrangements. Mr. Sowell was survived by his wife, Gail Sowell, Collierville, Tenn.; daughter, Karie (Alan) Sowell Harris, Oakland, Tenn.; son, Christopher Sowell, Memphis, Tenn.; granddaughter, Brooke Harris, Oakland, Tenn.; grandson, Brodie Harris, Oakland, Tenn.; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins in Georgiana, Ala., and Mobile, Ala. Mr. Sowell attended Georgiana Elementary School and Tallassee High School, and was a graduate of the University of Alabama.
