LBW Community College in Opp is offering an eight-session training course for ICD-10 Medical Coding on Mondays and Wednesdays, 6-8 p.m., Jan. 27-Feb. 19, 2014.

The International Classification of Diseases (ICD) was developed by the World Health Organization and is used to classify diseases and other health problems. The ICD-10 is an upgraded diagnostic and procedural medical coding system that, by law, must be implemented throughout the healthcare industry by Oct. 1, 2014. It is dramatically different from the ICD-9 version currently in use.
