Authorities have made an arrest in a fatal shooting that occurred in Crenshaw County on Dec. 4.
According to officials with the Crenshaw County District Attorney’s Office, Vincent Lowe was arrested and charged with the murder of Albert Lee.
The shooting took place on the corner of Davenport Highway and Upper Bozeman Road in Highland Home.
District Attorney Charlotte Tesmer said that Lowe drove by Lee and another man while they were working on their trucks. Words were exchanged which led to Lee being shot to death.
According to investigators, Lee was shot twice in the head.
The man that was with Lee fled into the woods and eventually alerted others to what had happened.
“That individual saw the defendant drive up and heard the words of exchange and heard a guns shot,” Tesmer said. “At that time, he ran and went up into the woods and eventually went up to his home and notified people what had happened.”
Authorities have yet to release what they believe the motive for the shooting was. The case is still under investigation.
“The investigation is ongoing and we are looking at all leads,” said Levi Nichols, assistant district attorney.
