Shirley Jean Sasser, 78, a resident of Fort Deposit, Ala., died at her residence on Sunday, Nov. 10. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 11, at Little Sandy Ridge Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Little Sandy Ridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Rev. Jim Helms will officiate and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home will direct.

Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Joanne Womack, and her brother, John Thompson. She is survived by her husband, Doyle Sasser of Fort Deposit, Ala.; daughters, Roni Winningham (Joseph) of Fort Deposit, Ala., Joanna Biondi (David) of Los Gatos, Calif., Helene Carlson (Gary) of Chesapeake, Va., Kathy Valtasaros (George) of Lincoln, Texas, and Judith Poland (Kevin) of Pearland, Texas; sons, Skip Sasser (Susie) of Cedar City, Utah, and Jim Sasser (Dana) of Friendswood, Texas; 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
