Auburn Chance was born in Greenville, Ala., on Oct. 30, I921, and passed away Oct. 30, 2013, in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Preceding him in death were his father, Jesse B. Chance; mother Sarah F. (Boutwell) Chance; two brothers, Jimmy and Milton Chance; and two sisters, Verla Woodruff and Annie Sides Powell; son, Bobbie Joe Chance; and grandson, Jay B. Schuyler.

Auburn leaves a wife of 67 years Doris M. (Smith) Chance; two daughters, Brenda Barker of Moore, Okla., and Sara Smith and husband Michael of Port Allen, La.; grandson Matthew S. Berry and wife Markie of Edmond Okla.; three great-granddaughters, Erika and Alexas Bryan of Edmond, Okla., and Kinley Berry of Edmond Okla.; two great-grandsons, Liam and Marek Berry of Edmond, Okla.; one brother, JB Chance of Greenville, Ala.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Auburn was a very out-going person who never met a stranger, and his magnetic personality won him many friends and will be missed by all.

A funeral service was held Nov. 2 at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel in Oklahoma City.
