George Calvin Hicks, 74, a resident of Georgiana, Ala., passed away Sunday, Oct. 6. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Bertha Hicks, and brother, James William Hicks. Survivors include his wife, Mary Agnes Hicks; son, Rusty (Tammy) Hicks, Georgiana, Ala.; daughters, Diane (Mark) Chavers and Angi (Marty) Hicks, both of Andalusia, Ala.; sister, Mary Alice Burt, Greenville, Ala.; grandchildren, Eric (Hope) Hicks, Georgiana, Ala., Zack (Joy) Chavers, Andalusia, Ala., Brandi Casey, and Casey Hicks, both of Pensacola, Fla., Erin Chavers, Andalusia, Ala., Alaina (Ben) Norman, and Robyn Hornsby, both of Georgiana, Ala., and Kayla Dewrell; great-grandchildren, Aiden Hicks, Brodie Houston and Branson Houston, all of Georgiana, Ala. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, from the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. Burial will follow in Morrow Schoolhouse Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until funeral time.
