Eileen Humphries Noe, 96, quietly departed this earth on Sunday, July 7, 2013. Mrs. Noe was born in Whitefish, Mont. Funeral services will be on Thursday, July 11, beginning at 3 p.m. at Little Sandy Ridge Presbyterian Church on County Rd. 79 in Fort Deposit. Rev. Robert Watts will officiate and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home will direct.. Burial will take place at Magnolia Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to: Palmer Home for Children, P. O. Box 746, Columbus, MS 39703-9983.
Mrs. Noe attended South Georgia State College and retired from a civil service career as a contract specialist with Base Procurement, Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery. Mrs. Noe was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and held various offices in the Fort Dale Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was regent of the Colonel Richard Dudley Chapter of the Daughters of the American Colonists in Greenville and held the office of state corresponding secretary of the Alabama DAC during the 1980s. A lifelong Presbyterian, Mrs. Noe was the oldest member of Little Sandy Ridge Presbyterian Church in Fort Deposit.
She was predeceased by her parents, Hazel and J. W. Humphries; a sister, Wilma; and her former husband, Howard A. Noe.
She is survived by her daughter, Annabel Noe Markle; son, Lt. Col. (ret.) William H. Noe (Joy); grandchildren, Dr. Christine E. Noe, Molly Noe Austin and James W. Noe; and two great-grandchildren, Harper and Nathan Noe.
