Droves of people flocked to Tom Harbin Farm Center last weekend for the annual rodeo that benefits area fire departments.
Organizer Stae Sanders said between Friday and Saturday nights about 1,000 people turned out to enjoy the rodeo and help support the 12 fire departments.
Sanders said Tuesday it’s too early to determine how much the Crenshaw County Volunteer Fire Association actually made off the rodeo.
The rodeo serves as a big fundraiser for the area volunteer fire departments.
Fire departments include Luverne, Brantley, Dozier, Rutledge, Spring Hill, Bullock, Fullers Crossroads, Highland Home, Glenwood, Honoraville, Chapel Hill and Northeast Crenshaw.
Sanders expressed his appreciation to those who helped put on the rodeo and the sponsors of the event.
“We would like to thank all the people who bought sponsorships, ads and came out to enjoy the wonderful event,” he said. “It was a great success.”
Event-goers enjoyed barrel racing, bull riding, calf wrestling and more.
There were pony rides and mutton busting for children, and vendors set up, as well.
