There will be tons of ball players in town starting tomorrow as Crenshaw County hosts two district tournaments – the 12-year-old Dixie Youth and the 10-year-old Dixie Minor.

Parks and Recreation Director Lee Simmons said earlier this week he expects about 10 teams each to come to Luverne to play.

The top two teams from each sub-district will compete in the district tournament.

“We’re looking for a good weekend,” he said.

Games will kick off Friday at 6 p.m., and at 6 p.m. on Saturday at EL Turner Park.

Cost is $4 for adults and $3 for kids, and kids 6 and under are admitted free.

On Saturday, admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
