OBITUARY: Bobbie H. Jackson

Bobbie H. Jackson departed this life on June 20, 2013. She was born in Leeds, Alabama, but was a long time resident of Luverne, Alabama. She was lovingly married to Sidney W. Jackson, Jr. The couple had 4 children, Lee Moncus (Mac), Celia Partlow (David), Sidney W. Jackson, III (Alyson), and Leslie Moody (Frank), 12 grand children, 1 great grandchild, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends. The pallbearers are Beeson Partlow, Jack Partlow, Sidney Jackson, Branham Moore, Bowen Chapman, and Burke Moncus.
After graduating from Pell City High School, Bobbie attended the University of Alabama and received her BS in Education from Troy University. She taught in the public and private schools before pursuing a successful business career involving antiques, retail sales, a salon, and real estate.
Bobbie was outgoing and had many varied interests such as tennis, golf, music, extensive travel, and entertaining.
“Miss Bobbie” for years taught tap dancing, ball room dancing, piano, and organ. Bobbie was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain, especially her Bridge Club. Bobbie was a kind, charitable, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed and in lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Crenshaw Christian Academy, 608 Country Club Dr., Luverne, Alabama, 36049 or the charity of your choice.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Turner’s Funeral Home, 360 East 3rd Street, Luverne, Alabama, 36049 and the funeral will be a graveside service at Luverne Emmaus Cemetery at 11:00 am, Monday, June 24, 2013.
