Mrs. Nancy Capell Cates, 78, a resident of Ft. Deposit, Ala., died on Thursday, May 30, 2013.  Graveside services were held on June 2, 2013, at Little Sandy Ridge Cemetery near Ft. Deposit with Minister Jack Cates officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Cates is preceded in death by her parents, Charles C. and Helen Capell, and an infant son.  She is survived by her husband, Joseph G. Cates of Ft. Deposit, Ala.; children, James C. Cates (Kay) of Boulder, Colo., Joseph E. Cates (Lourdes) of San Marino, Calif., Charlotte C. Gard (Duke) of Las Cruces, N.M., and Claire C. Haulk (Kevin) of Griffin, Ga.; nine grandchildren; sisters, Mary Helen Capell of Mobile, Ala., June Capell of Mobile, Ala., and Peggy Capell of Forest Park, Ga.
