The opening of the City of Greenville’s Camellia Garden has been postponed.

The City had planned to hold a grand opening Wednesday, but due to heavy rains in the area on Monday and Tuesday, officials elected to move the opening to Feb. 18 at 11 a.m.

The Camellia Garden, which is located at Beeland Park, has been in the works since 2011 when the City of Greenville purchased the land behind the park.

The City then used grant money from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs to fund the project.
