The deadline for Greenville businesses to purchase their 2013 business licenses without penalty is nearing.

Businesses can purchases a 2013 license without penalty up until Jan. 31. Beginning Feb. 1, there will be a 15 percent penalty added to the cost of the business license. Licenses not paid by March 2 will be subject to a 30 percent penalty.

City Clerk Sue Arnold said the cost of business licenses vary depending on the type of business.

“Everyone’s business license expired on Dec. 31, but we give everyone until Jan. 31 to purchase their license for the upcoming year,” Arnold said.
