Emma Jean (Curry) Shell, 85, a resident of Georgiana, Ala., died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Shell will held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Brushey Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Harvill officiating. Her body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until the funeral. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Shell was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Shell. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Shell, Georgiana, Ala.; sons, Stephen and John Mark Shell, both of Georgiana, Ala.; brother, Thomas Curry, Sr., Orlando, Fla.; Sisters-in-law, Gail Curry, Durham, N.C., and Janie Curry, Alexander City, Ala.; and a number of nieces and nephews. The Shell family would like to extend gratitude to caregivers, Sue Ellen Curry and Joyce Johnson; sospice aide, Shere Simpson; and the Covenant Care Hospice nurses for their dedication, attentiveness, and loving care that was provided for their mother.
