Oswald retires after 50 years in banking

H. Wayne Oswald, formerly of Greenville, has announced that he will retire from the banking industry after 50 years.

Oswald started his career in banking in 1963 at Greenville Bank.

He attended Auburn University and graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.  In 1971, Oswald moved to Inverness, Florida, as Vice President of The Bank of Inverness.  In 1991, he was elected President of The Bank of Inverness.

In 2008, The Bank of Inverness along with four other banks owned by the Brannen family was merged into one bank, Brannen Bank, with 12 locations spanning 3 counties in Central Florida.  Oswald, was named President of Brannen Bank.

Oswald is married to the former Sue Talley, also of Greenville.  They have two children Krystal and David, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

After 50 years in banking, the Oswald’s are looking forward to traveling, relaxing and enjoying more time with the family.
