Georgiana has a new mayor.

Jerome Antone defeated Larry Creech in Tuesday’s runoff election to claim the city’s highest office.

Antone received 54 percent of the vote (327) to defeat Creech, who received 276 votes.

In August’s municipal election, which featured five candidates, Antone garnered 117 votes, while Creech received 109.

Incumbent Mayor Mike Middleton received 77 votes.

In the race for Georgiana’s District 4 seat, Clementine Pugh defeated Valerie Pettway 76-26 Tuesday.
