More than 150 indictments were considered by the grand jury during a two-day session earlier this week.

According to Butler County District Attorney Charlotte Tesmer, the grand jury was presented 157 indictments, as well as a number of medically unattended deaths to consider.

The indictments ranged from misdemeanors to felonies.

“There was a good many drugs sale cases by the drug task force, but we still have a good many that are pending and we’re waiting on the labs to come back,” Tesmer said.

“We’ll wait six to eight months to get those back.”

The arraignment will be in about two and half weeks to follow up on the cases.

Tesmer said she was unable at this point to comment on the cases heard by the grand jury, but commended the service of the jurors.

“This grand jury is the biggest one I have taken part in,” Tesmer said.

“The grand jurors did a good job taking care of the county’s business.”
