Ronnie Graddy has announced his intent to seek the office of Butler County Circuit Clerk.
Graddy, the owner of Greenville Storage LLC, will run as a Republican. He will face Mattie Gomillion, who defeated Jason Simmons in the Democratic primary in March.
“If I am elected, I will be there to serve the people,” Graddy said. “I’ll be fair and responsible, and will always work for the people of Butler County.”
Graddy said his 30 years of business experience will help him deal with the issues facing the state’s court system, which has suffered a number of budget cuts during the last several year.
“The court system, like everything else, has faced cuts,” he said. “As a business owner, I know how to stick to a budget. I also have the experience to make sure the office runs efficiently, and I can manage people. No matter how many or how few people we have, I’ll make sure that the work of the Circuit Clerk’s Office gets done.”
Graddy serves on the planning commission for the City of Greenville and as the treasurer of the local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
He’s also a past president of the Greenville Jaycees and a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Graddy is seeking political office for the first time.
