Brown opens clothing boutique

What started as a large, empty space quickly morphed into a dream for Blush Beauty Boutique owner Chae Brown.
A new clothing boutique, named The Loft, has been added to Blush. The new addition caters to young women.
Brown originally moved to Greenville from Auburn to help her mother run Young’s Fashion. She had planned to move back to Auburn and open a clothing boutique. Instead, she fell in love with Greenville and opened the boutique right here in the Camellia City.
The open space was originally fully carpeted, but with the help of Brown’s fiancé, Dewey Boggan, she was able to sand a glue-coated floor to create stained hardwood floors in three weeks.
“It’s not perfect, but we love the character,” Brown said.
Walls were added to close in the space and Brown and store manager Elisa Campbell helped paint bright accent colors like pink and turquoise to add even more character to the store.
The clothing ranges from dresses to shirts to shoes and accessories. Prices range from $20-$60.
“Everyone we talked to always said we need another clothing place here,” Brown said. “Something different, new and with unique items.”
Brown said she hopes The Loft will be in Greenville for many years to come.
The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting at The Loft on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The store is located on Commerce Street in downtown Greenville.
