City accepts SCADC grant

The Greenville City Council voted on Monday to accept a Title III Older Americans Act grant from the South Central Alabama Development Commission.
The $26,047 grant will be used to provide support and nutrition services to the Greenville Multi-Purpose Center from Oct. 1, 2012, to Sept. 30, 2013.
In other business, the council voted to approve a special retail liquor license for the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce for its annual Seafood Social, which will be held Oct. 11.
Greenville Mayor Dexter McLendon also announced that the city will hold Trick or Treat on Commerce Street on Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The council approved a $2,170 payment to the U.S. Postmaster for the city’s postage meter and a $2,339 payment to Greenville Equipment Center for a Exmark Quick Dump Bagger.
