Funeral services for the late Mrs. Mary Maye Briggs were held on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 1 p.m. from St. Francis Baptist Church. Rev. Robert Lewis, officiated. Burial followed in the churchyard cemetery. Mrs. was born February 28, 1927 to the late John Henry Maye, Sr. and Pearline Hamilton Maye in Pigeon Creek, Ala.  She entered into rest after a lengthy illness on June 22, 2012. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Maggaline McClain; son, Clinton Briggs, Jr.; grandson, Seante Wright; brothers & sisters, John Henry Maye, Jr., Ruby Dean Harrison-Briggs, Jim Willie Maye, Willie James Maye, Martha Johnson-Jones, Henry Lee Maye, and Eloise Jones. Mary leaves to cherish her memories, a loving husband, Clinton Briggs, Sr. (5) children; Mary Lee Gibson, Mt. Holley, N.C.,  Jimmie (Regina) McClain, Newnan, Ga., Annie L. McClain & Sharlean Briggs both of Greenville, Ala., Clifford (Beverly) Briggs, Rochester, NY. (1) daughter in law, Vernell Briggs; (2) brothers; Freddie L (Flora) Maye, Deltona, FL, Zebbie D (Sarah) Maye, Orange City, FL; (2) sisters; Helen D Maye-Hannah and Pearlie (Benny Sr.) Ridgeway, both of Rochester, N.Y.; (2) brother in laws; Calvin (Patricia) Briggs, Rochester, N.Y., Jerome Briggs, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; (3) sister in laws; Rosie Lee Maye & Lessie Maye-Wright, both of Rochester, N.Y., Alma J. Maye, Greenville, Ala. God daughter, Shantae McCall, (13) Grandchildren, (40) Great Grandchildren, and (4) Great Great Grandchildren. A special loving and supportive Great Grandson, Domir G. Joyner.  She shared a special relationship with nephew, Willie Mays, and nieces Patricia (Trish) Harrison, and Della (Denise) Maye. A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and special friends, Mrs. Martha Bailey and Francis Shine.
