Tracy Salter, 32, has been named president of Greenville Newspapers, LLC and publisher of The Greenville Advocate, Butler County News, Luverne Journal, Lowndes Signal, Camellia Magazine and affiliated websites.
Salter has been general manager of GNL since December 2011. GNL is affiliated with Boone Newspapers, Inc., of Tuscaloosa.
“Anyone who knows Tracy knows she excels at anything she sets her mind to,” said BNI vice president and former GNL publisher Dennis Palmer. “She does an excellent job working with a top-flight community newspaper staff and, as a Butler County native, she understands the community. She also knows the role and responsibilities of a community newspaper.”
Salter began her career with GNL in 1999 as an inside classified sales representative, working her way up to advertising manager before being named general manager after Ashley Vansant was named publisher of the Washington Daily News in Washington, N.C.
Salter and her husband Daniel have two children, Ryan, 17, and Andrew, 13. She is a member of Greenville Kiwanis Club, the LV Stabler Memorial Healthy Woman advisory board, and a member of the Achiever Award scholarship program committee.
