Dexter McLendon will seek a fourth term as mayor of the City of Greenville.

McLendon, a resident of the Camellia City for 53 years, has served as Greenville’s mayor since 2000.

“I want to thank the citizens of Greenville for their support the last 12 years,” McLendon said. “While I’m proud of our accomplishments, there’s more work to be done to make our community better. With determination and vision, the possibilities for this city are endless, and I hope to continue to serve the residents of Greenville as we pursue the goals we have set.”

Prior to being elected as mayor, McLendon served on the city council for three terms, and was instrumental in securing the land for Cambrian Ridge, a stop on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, and the property near Interstate 65 where Greenville High School is now located.

“I humbly ask each citizen of Greenville for their prayers, support and vote in the upcoming election,” McLendon said. “Many of you share my dreams for Greenville and working together we can build a better tomorrow for all the residents of this community.”
