The Butler County Farmers Federation Women’s Leadership Committee will hold its 6th annual Butler County Heritage Cook Off June 23.

The category for this year’s contest is cupcakes. Participants, who must be members of the Alabama Farmers Federation, should prepare 12 standard size cupcakes in a single flavor prior to the cook off. The cupcakes will then be rated by a panel of judges that will select the top three based on flavor, attractiveness, simplicity of the recipe and taste. First, second and third places will receive monetary prizes. The first place winner will also have the chance to represent Butler County at the state contest in September. The local contest will be held at the Greenville-Butler County Public Library. It will begin at 1 p.m.
