Gibson appointed to Housing Authority Board

The Greenville City Council appointed Gail Gibson to the Housing Authority Board at its meeting Tuesday night.
Gibson’s term will expire Dec. 12, 2016.
“Gail is a very passionate and caring person, and I think she’ll be a great addition to the board,” Greenville Mayor Dexter McLendon said.
In other business:
- The Council approved an $11,550 payment to Skipper Construction, a $1,200 payment to Pest Tech Termite and Pest Control, Inc. and $19,990 to Couch Concrete for work on the new Public Works Building.
- The Council approved a $6,314.20 payment to Comm Serv, Inc. for installing lights, push bumpers, consoles and sirens on two new police cruisers.
- The Council approved a $1,500 payment to Scott Burkett Painting & Carpentry for repairs to the doors at the Ritz Theatre. The payment was made from the Ritz Theatre Surcharge Account.
- The Council approved a $1,200 payment to Ark Builders, Inc. for the removal and disposal of asbestos from city buildings.
