Mrs. Mary Louretta Sampley Pittman, age 74, of Bessemer, passed away at her home with family and friends by her side on April 29, 2012. She was born in Butler County on February 15, 1938 to Jesse and Ruby Sampley. She was also a Charter Member of the Baptist Church at McAdory. Mrs. Pittman was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ruby Sampley; brothers, Earl, Jesse Hugh and Wilbur Glen Sampley and her sister, Eileen Wright.

Mrs. Pittman is survived by her husband, Thomas “Tommy” Pittman Sr.; son, Thomas “Tom” Pittman, Jr.; daughter, Anita C. Pittman; grandchildren, Brandon Sampley(Allison), Kayla Sampley Rossman (Scott), Zach and Macie Sampley; great-grandchildren, LoreLai-Reese Rossman and Jade Sampley; nephew, Phillip Sampley and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 11:00 am at McCalla Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
