A Greenville woman is back in jail after the Second Judicial Task Force discovered a controlled substance at her residence on Government Street.
Sequita Vonta McWilliams, 26, was out on bond when the Task Force executed a warrant on her home Tuesday and discovered the controlled substance, which Butler County Sheriff Kenny Harden said was cocaine.
McWilliams is now being held in the Butler County Correctional Facility on a $400,000 bond. She has been charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.
“It’s obvious that this person here will not stop selling drugs,” Harden said. “She’s out on bond and the Task Force keeps arresting her. Hopefully we can keep her in jail this time for her to go to trial.”
Harden said in cases involving those with multiple offenses, he would like to see judges make higher bonds.
“Obviously when they get back out there, they’re not going by the law,” Harden said.
“They’re going right back to what they were doing when they were arrested.”
