Butler County Schools Superintendent Darren Douthitt and Georgiana Mayor Mike Middleton are working towards finalizing a deal between the BOE and the city concerning the old Georgiana High School Property.

Middleton and Douthitt met on Tuesday to address issues raised during discussions by both the BOE and the Georgiana City Council concerning the use of various rooms and buildings on the campus.

Douthitt and Assistant Superintendent of Operations Allin Whittle are scheduled to address the council at its April 3 meeting.

“We’ll get to a closer decision and an understanding about the whole matter, and it will come to a conclusion after that meeting,” Douthitt said.
