Elizabeth “Betty” Carnathan

Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Carnathan, 86, a native of Greenville, AL and resident of Waynesboro, died Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Meadville, MS. She had worked as a Secretary at the Wayne County Extension Office. Mrs. Elizabeth Kettler Walton Carnathan was a 1943 graduate of Greenville High School. She is preceded in death by her husband, John D. Carnathan; father, Ronald Guy Walton, Sr. and mother, Annie Lee Kettler Walton;  sister, Mary Nell Barcelona. She is survived by 2 sons, Charles Carnathan and Joseph Carnathan (Dorothy), both of Waynesboro; 2 daughters, Nora Nored (Tony) of Shubuta and Mary Welford (David) of Waynesboro; step-son, John Thomas Carnathan (Sai) of Las Vegas, NV; step-daughter, Pansy Tillman (Richard) of McKenzie, AL; brother, Roland Guy Walton, Jr. of Fort Myers, FL; 12 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Carnathan was held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, February 5, 2012 in the Parlor of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro. Funeral Services were held at 10:00 AM Monday, February 6, 2012 from the Chapel of Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro with Dr. Steve Smith officiating. Interment was in Waynesboro Cemetery.
